A Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontologyand a Fellow of the International Team of Implantology, he’s also a faculty member at the Einstein Medical Center.     Dr. Rafael Siqueira

    DDS, MS, PhD

    Dr. Rafael Siqueira is a Periodontist, Clinical Assistant Professor and Director of Graduate Periodontics at Virginia Commonwealth University, and part-time private practitioner in the state of Virginia. He earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Pernambuco in 2010 ( Brazil) and received a certificate of specialist in Periodontics by the Brazilian Military Academy of Dentistry in 2013. Later, he obtained a Master’s degree in Oral Sciences (Implantology) from the Ilapeo College (Brazil) in 2013 and PhD in Oral Sciences from the Federal University of Pernambuco in 2018. As part of his PhD program he worked as a research fellow at the School of the Dentistry, University of Michigan, where he also completed a Periodontics Residency with a Master’s degree in 2021. Dr. Siqueira has over 10 years of experience in private practice and teaching Periodontics and implant related procedures and has published more than 30 scientific articles in international peer reviewed journals, and authored 5 book chapters.

    Dr. Andrea Ravidà, a notable Misch Educator and Co-Director of Education at the Misch Implant Institute, is a renowned periodontist currently leading the Periodontics Department at the University of Pittsburgh. With advanced training in Periodontics from the University of Michigan and a PhD from the University of Granada, Dr. Ravidà’s expertise spans periodontal and implant diseases and therapies. His tenure as a full-time faculty member at the University of Michigan underscores his commitment to teaching. Dr. Ravidà’s research focuses on peri-implantitis, periodontitis, and short implants, contributing over 70 peer-reviewed articles and many international conference presentations. As a Section Editor for the International Journal of Oral Implantology and a member of several editorial boards, his influence is widespread. His achievements include the Schoor Research Award, Educator Scholarship, and William Laney Award from leading organizations.
